High winds are the most common cause of tree emergencies. Storms can snap trunks, tear out branches, uproot entire trees, and leave partially failed limbs hanging dangerously in the canopy. After a major storm, we prioritise calls based on the severity of the risk and work through them as quickly as possible. During major winter storms we have attended dozens of emergency jobs across our service area in a single week.

Fallen Trees

A fallen tree can block access to your property, damage buildings, crush fences, bring down power lines, or block roads. We have the equipment to cut up and remove fallen trees of any size, including large specimens that have landed on structures where careful sectional work is needed to avoid further damage.

Hanging and Broken Branches

A large branch that has partially broken but remains attached to the tree is one of the most dangerous situations. These "hangers" can drop without warning and with enormous force. If you spot a hanging branch, keep people and pets well away from the area and call us immediately. We can remove the branch safely using ropes and rigging without putting anyone at risk.

Dangerous Leans and Root Plate Lifting

If a tree has developed a sudden lean — particularly after wet or windy weather — it may indicate that the root plate is failing. You might see the ground lifting on one side of the tree, or cracks appearing in the soil. This is an emergency situation, as the tree could fall at any time. We can assess the tree, make the area safe, and carry out felling if required.

Trees on Buildings

When a tree falls onto a house, garage, or outbuilding, the removal must be handled with extreme care to avoid causing further structural damage. Our team is experienced in working on trees that are resting on buildings, using rigging techniques to lift sections away from the structure without allowing additional weight or movement to cause further harm.

2. We provide a timeframe and cost estimate — even in an emergency, we agree the cost with you before we start. No surprises.
3. Our team arrives with all necessary equipment — chainsaws, rigging gear, chippers, and vehicles to remove all waste.
4. We make the site safe — our first priority is always to eliminate the immediate danger. If the full removal cannot be completed in one visit (for example, if we need a crane or specialist equipment), we'll make the tree safe and return to finish the job.
5. Full cleanup — we remove all timber, branchwood, and debris, leaving your property tidy. Where the damaged tree needs full removal or stump work, we follow up with tree felling and stump grinding at a convenient time.

For councils, developers and commercial sites needing out-of-hours response, we also provide emergency tree services through a separate commercial contract arrangement.
